As a hybrid role based in San Francisco, you'll be in the office 2–3 days a week at 2 Embarcadero Ctr.
What You'll Do
- Build Foundational LLM Tooling: Design, build, and maintain core LLM infrastructure components, operationalize observability tools, and create reusable libraries that accelerate feature teams.
- Develop Advanced AI Capabilities: Deploy pipelines for a vector database to enable Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) across multiple product teams.
- Pioneer Future‑State Infrastructure: Contribute proofs‑of‑concept and architecture for future innovations.
- Ensure Platform Excellence & Scalability: Add logging, monitoring, and alerting to platform services for stability, performance, and cost‑efficiency.
- Partner with Feature Teams: Act as a consultant to unlock AI roadmaps and enable cross‑functional collaboration.

- Platform Adoption & Developer Enablement: Accelerate onboarding, boost developer satisfaction, and drive quarterly adoption.

What You'll Bring
- Proven Experience: Hands‑on production‑grade software, significant LLM or Generative AI engineering experience.
- A Platform Builder's Mindset: Build internal tools, libraries, or platforms with clear documentation and API design.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong Python, modern AI/ML stack, cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and CI/CD pipelines.
- LLM & Generative AI Expertise: Build or work with key components of the modern LLM stack, orchestration frameworks, observability tools, and RAG infrastructure.
- Pragmatic Problem‑Solving: Operate at feature scope, break down solutions, and proactively mitigate risks.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Target Salary
$120,000 – $165,275. Individual pay may vary by experience, location, and internal equity.
