Security Manager – Employee & Patient Safety

The Manager of Security oversees security operations for the Department of Public Health (DPH), ensuring a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors. The Manager assists with the development and implementation of security policies, coordinates with law enforcement and emergency responders, manages risk assessments, and leads responses to security incidents. The Manager also directs the administration of security systems and technologies and promotes a proactive culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols for assigned facilities.
• Conduct risk assessments and site evaluations to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate security measures across all public health facilities to ensure consistent protection of employees, patients, and visitors.
• Lead investigations into security incidents, workplace violence, and breaches of safety protocols at assigned sites.
• Manage and monitor security technologies, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• Maintain working partnerships with law enforcement agencies to support effective engagement in complex hospital environments.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to security and safety.
• Project manage the implementation of electronic security systems and technology integration for all DPH facilities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience overseeing security operations within a healthcare or government setting, including electronic security system management.
• Certification (Desirable): Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
