Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Accountant to join their dynamic team in the Oakland, California area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project finances, ensuring accuracy in billing, and supporting project managers within the civil engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Act as a project accountant for civil engineering projects, focusing heavily on project management and billing.
• Prepare and process invoices for clients and ensure timely billing.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with project budgets.
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring they align with company standards and policies.
• Conduct financial analysis and generate reports for management review.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring throughout project lifecycles.
• Resolve any discrepancies in billing and work to improve the billing process.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Provide support in financial audits and reviews as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project accounting, particularly in civil engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and billing processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and project managers effectively.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.
