Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Eight years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL). If you hold a master's degree, five years of experience is sufficient.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Data Scientists provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to Google's partners throughout the organization. As a member of the ML, Systems & Cloud AI (MSCA) team, you design, implement, and manage machine‑learning and infrastructure solutions that serve billions of users worldwide. You will collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Management, delivering insights through analytics, storytelling, and data‑driven recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis using SQL, R, and Python to solve open‑ended product and business problems.
  • Build new processes, procedures, and components that anticipate future challenges.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews and translate results into actionable product improvements.
  • Prototype and iterate analysis and business cases at scale, maintaining deep knowledge of Google's data structures and metrics.
  • Influence cross‑functional teams to align resources and establish direction.

Benefits and Compensation

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $156,000–$229,000, plus bonus, equity and benefits. Base salary only is displayed; additional compensation is not included in the posted range.
