Overview
Join to apply for the Social Media Manager role at Framework.
We're looking for a Social Media Manager who can make Framework's mission come alive across social platforms. This role isn't about chasing trends or vanity metrics. It's about building a strong, engaged audience that connects with our values: open, inclusive, creative, ambitious, and curious.
The Position
You will own our organic social strategy and execution, from planning product launch campaigns to spotlighting community stories. You will work closely with Marketing, Creative, and Community teams to ensure our social presence feels consistent, approachable, and inspiring.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based on-site at our San Francisco office, requiring on-site presence. This role will act as the Marketing team's on-the-ground support, responsible for all hands-on content and logistical needs, and representing Framework at local events. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
- Build and manage Framework's organic social media strategy across YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms, with an emphasis on video.
- Work in quick iteration cycles, producing and testing new creative weekly to keep social channels fresh and responsive to audience insights.
- Develop and publish content that balances product storytelling with community-driven narratives (repair guides, Linux setups, user upgrades).
- Partner with Creative to ensure visuals and copy align with Framework's design system and brand voice.
- Collaborate with Community to engage with a passionate audience and amplify user-generated content.
- Plan and execute campaigns for major product launches (Framework Laptop generations, Marketplace parts) and keep momentum going with evergreen content.
- Engage with our audience directly, responding to questions and fostering open, inclusive conversations.
- Track performance and report on metrics that matter: engagement depth, sentiment, channel growth, website referrals, and contribution to long-term growth.
- Travel domestically and occasionally abroad to marketing events to capture social media assets, or direct and repurpose content captured by other team members.
What You Need
- Experience: 3+ years managing and creating social media for a brand, preferably in tech, hardware, or community-driven companies.
- Familiarity with Linux and DIY hardware culture.
- Familiarity using social media posting tools like Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, or others. Familiarity using in-app editing.
- Writing skills: Clear, approachable, and adaptable voice. Able to explain technical topics in a way that feels empowering.
- Creative execution: Confident shooting and editing social-first photos and videos. Strong eye for content formats and a deep understanding of platform nuance.
- Analytics mindset: Comfortable defining KPIs, tracking performance, and iterating based on insights, not just chasing follower counts.
- Mission alignment: Passion for sustainability, repairability, and giving people control over their technology.
What's Nice To Have
- Experience working in small, fast-moving teams where you wear multiple hats.
- Experience with a DSLR camera.
What You'll Love
- Competitive salary, equity, and health benefits
- Paid company holidays plus 20 PTO days per year
- Paid Parental Leave
- Flexible work hours and locations, including every other Friday off
- 401K with matching for US employees
- The chance to work at a startup that is making a positive social and environmental impact
