Overview

Manufacturing Integration Engineer role at Western Digital. Global Operations and HDD/semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new product introduction into the manufacturing line.
  • Develop and optimize process routes to enhance products and processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Program, Design, Development, Process, Equipment, QA, and Yield) to qualify new products, processes, and equipment.
  • Improve line yield, element yield, cycle time, and overall product performance.
  • Ensure product quality and reliability throughout the manufacturing flow.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in process, integration, and characterization within the HDD, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, and presentation abilities.
  • Skilled in project management, data analysis, and evaluation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and JMP/SAS; familiarity with data visualization, statistical analysis, or programming tools (e.g., Tableau, Python, SQL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of engineering methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, and MRR is preferred.
