Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead technical collateral development and hands-on validation for our in-house multi-node server platforms. In this highly visible role, you'll shape next‑gen data center and storage technologies, build proof-of-concepts, author technical feature collateral, and showcase Supermicro innovation online and at industry events. You'll be the go-to subject matter expert for product managers and engineers—especially across networking, storage, and virtualization benchmarks.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical enablement
• Develop technical collateral, feature whitepapers, and POCs that clearly differentiate Supermicro solutions.
• Present insights and solution demos at industry events and through online channels.
• Build, validate, and optimize server solutions
• Assemble complex systems: CPUs/GPUs, motherboards, memory, storage, and networking.
• Perform Linux OS-level benchmarking, validation, driver/software stack testing, and debugging.
• Create and maintain test scripts; drive test automation to accelerate validation cycles.
• Root-cause failures down to component or node level; partner closely with Engineering on fixes.
• Own quality and delivery
• Generate clear, comprehensive test reports with actionable insights.
• Contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept to launch—ensuring on-time, high-quality releases.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Component Managers, and Product teams.
• Benchmarking and performance expertise
• Be the SME for application benchmarks across networking, storage, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with NVQual, MLPerf, and CUDA is a strong plus.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's in EE, CE, CS, or ME with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of enterprise server architectures and server product development.
• Strong knowledge of PCIe, SATA, SAS, OS applications; vSAN experience is a plus.
• Experience with performance and storage benchmarks (FIO, IOmeter, vdbench).
• Familiarity with in-band and OOB management (IPMI/BIOS).
• Skilled with hardware installation, hand/power tools; able to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Compensation

• Salary range: $137,000 – $156,000
• Total rewards may include bonus and equity programs, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
• Actual compensation depends on location, level, skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity.
