Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and development of Goodreads' Trust & Identity initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the product vision, roadmap, and execution for authentication, account protection, and fraud prevention capabilities, ensuring they align with Goodreads' overall mission and customer trust objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision:
    • Develop and communicate a compelling strategy for Goodreads' authentication and trust infrastructure
    • Align security and authentication initiatives with overall Goodreads and Amazon Identity systems
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance customer trust, security, and account protection
  • Product Development and Management:
    • Lead the end-to-end product development process for authentication and account protection features
    • Define and prioritize security enhancements and fraud prevention capabilities
    • Create detailed product requirements for integration with Amazon Identity systems and ML models
    • Manage the product backlog and roadmap for the Trust engineering team in partnership with the Engineering Manager
  • Trust & Security Initiatives:
    • Drive improvements in fraud detection capabilities through ML model integration
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of user authentication systems
    • Manage third-party integrations (Twitter, Google, Apple) securely
    • Lead privacy and security compliance initiatives, in partnership with Goodreads' Security TPM
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    • Collaborate with a team of 8 SDEs, UXD, and DSDE to deliver high-quality solutions
    • Partner closely with other Goodreads engineering teams
    • Partner with AIS and other key partner teams across AMZ
    • Work with legal teams to ensure compliance with privacy requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
  • Passion for books and reading is a plus
  • Strong understanding of authentication systems and security best practices
  • Experience with ML-driven fraud prevention systems
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations and compliance requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
