Lumafield is hiring for an Application Engineer in San Francisco. This role focuses on delivering computer vision and machine learning solutions atop Lumafield's products, working closely with engineering, product, and research teams, and directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in developing and delivering computer vision and machine learning solutions on Lumafield's products for customers.
• Consult in pre-sales contexts to advise Account Executives and other Application Engineers on the scope and possibilities of Lumafield's CV/ML solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to build product expertise and internal knowledge.
• Become the Lumafield expert and primary point of contact for Lumafield's machine learning and computer vision solutions.
• Own post-sales training, tuning, and delivery of CV/ML solutions.
• Ship new algorithms and updates to Lumafield's Voyager software to extend CV/ML capabilities.
• Spend the majority of time in the San Francisco office (approximately 80%), with travel to customer sites (about 20%).

About you / Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in the specialization described in this posting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years in a software development or technical pre-sales role.
• Experience with common computer vision and machine learning algorithms and problems (e.g., segmentation, classification, object detection, anomaly detection).
• Strong Python software development skills (OOP, git, unit testing and integration testing, deployment).
• Desire to learn across adjacent engineering disciplines and to grow your skill set.

Bonus points

• 3D machine learning experience

• Metrology experience
