We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a leading payments client of ours on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity will involve being at the forefront of building scalable systems that will re-define how businesses move money.

The role requires candidates to be based in the US, and they are open to both hybrid and remote options, with their office being based in the Bay area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python and Golang.
• Build and optimize event-driven, distributed systems leveraging Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to ship features end-to-end.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to scaling decisions as we grow.
• Ensure security, compliance, and resilience of fintech systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and help shape engineering culture.
• Partner with Product, Security, Risk, and Operations teams to translate complex business needs into resilient engineering solutions.

Requirements:

• Strong background in Software Engineering – ideally 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Experience with at least 1 modern backend language is important for this role (Python, Golang)
• Deep expertise in system architecture, API design, and building high-throughput, reliable services—understanding how to design under the constraints of both new and existing systems.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms would be a plus (AWS preferred but not required)

The role offers the flexibility of a remote or hybrid work arrangement and offers long-term earning potential with a strong compensation package, including equity and bonus, with a base pay range of $180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr.
