We are looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join Sprig's Platform Team. The Platform Team is responsible for the backend architecture, data ingestion, processing, and storage systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. Your work will directly impact customers by providing reliable, scalable, and insightful research tools that help teams build customer-centric products.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Team. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain features and infrastructure that power Sprig's product research solutions.

Your Impact

  • Enable customer insights by implementing and optimizing features that power our event-based targeting systems
  • Provide technical leadership on projects, guiding decisions and ensuring best practices
  • Collaborate with product managers, AI engineers, and product engineers to integrate backend systems with other platform components
  • Stay ahead of technologies and integrate them into our systems to keep Sprig at the cutting edge
  • Drive data integrity and security by managing and maintaining databases to ensure accurate insights
  • Design and develop robust backend systems to enhance platform scalability and performance

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on platform, backend systems, data infrastructure, or distributed computing
  • Experience with Redis, Postgres, ScyllaDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, gRPC, REST, WebSocket, and S3
  • Experience in AWS and Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Proficient in writing production-grade code using Node.js, Golang, or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick learner and strong team player
  • Experience with low-latency, high-volume data stores is a plus

Employee Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $260,000 + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The posted range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across locations (San Francisco, CA; New York, NY). Individual pay is determined by location, skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter can share the specific range for your location during the hiring process. Compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include equity or benefits.
