Overview

TRC is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Consultant/Subject Matter Expert in the West Coast Region to report to NorCal, SoCal, Denver, or Seattle offices. The position requires a strong technical safety service background, project management skills, a solid reputation for building and maintaining key client relationships, and a strong interest in business development. The role focuses on providing health and safety compliance consulting and helping clients improve their performance toward applicable safety goals. This position supports our national platform to deliver Safety Compliance Programs and Performance Improvement Services.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of written health and safety programs (e.g., hazard communication, lockout-tagout, confined space, fall protection, PPE, electrical safety, hot work, machine guarding, and related topics).
  • Develop, deliver, and support safety training programs.
  • Hazard identification and risk evaluation.
  • Health and safety compliance audits to evaluate applicability and conformance with applicable state requirements.
  • Health and safety management system design, development, and implementation to standards such as ISO 45001 and ANSI Z10.
  • Perform project management, mentoring, oversight, and coordination.
  • Develop client relationships, management, and growth.
  • Prepare client deliverables.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
  • Work with client account managers and teams to meet client expectations and expand services.
  • Support a variety of industrial operations including power, chemical, food and beverage, aerospace, solid waste, forest products, rail transportation, oil and gas, retail, and more.

Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, science or engineering-related field.
  • 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing environments across targeted industries.
  • Experience organizing and conducting OSHA health and safety audits.
  • Experience developing and delivering OSHA compliance programs.
  • Experience performing safety due diligence assessments.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing safety management systems (ISO 45001).
  • Experience in business development and working with key account teams to increase revenue.
  • Interest in business development.
  • Consultative demeanor with the ability to identify and offer solutions for clients.
  • Strong written and oral communications and technical health and safety skills.
  • Team player to support our national service platform.
  • Ability to develop rapport and positive relationships with clients and employees.
  • Ability to carry equipment such as ladders and air monitoring equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical, and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to commute to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous consulting and client management experience.
  • Service growth experience preferred.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the salary range USD 135,000.00 – USD 160,000.00 per year applies to this job and location. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, location, and other factors.

Other compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the company's annual discretionary bonus program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance against KPIs, which vary by year and employee.
