Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

We're a venture-backed Bay Area team on a mission to leverage AI in a practical way to help consumer-focused subscription companies drive better customer retention and gain real-time insight into what motivates their subscribers to stay.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the core backend services and APIs for our product.


• Lead development in Rust with PostgreSQL and cloud infrastructure.


• Partner with ML engineers to integrate AI-driven insights and automation.


• Build scalable systems to handle subscription data, retention experiments, and real-time reporting.


• Establish backend engineering best practices, deployment pipelines, and architecture foundations.


• Collaborate closely with frontend and product to ship features quickly and reliably.

Our Stack

Our stack today: Rust, PostgreSQL, React, and constrained AI for retention insights.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years of experience building backend systems and APIs.


• Proficiency in Rust (or a strong systems/backend language and willingness to dive deep into Rust).


• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and deployments.


• Comfort with databases like PostgreSQL and data modeling.


• Excitement about building resilient, high-performance infrastructure from scratch.


• (Bonus) Familiarity with subscription/e-commerce/payment systems.


• (Bonus) Experience with ML/AI integrations.
