Role is customer facing and requires clear verbal and written communications, professional interactions, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Liaison between cities and jurisdictions, and build meaningful, long-term relationships in various markets.
- Guide teams and participate with research and prepare documentation for required permits, right of ways, easements, and land use for telecom projects.
- Create and maintain reports, tracking progress of multiple projects to meet customer delivery deadlines and conditions of approvals from municipalities.
- Obtain all necessary permitting / zoning approvals from Federal, State, and local agencies; inform internal groups about regulatory requirements to support compliance at permit and construction stages and meet project timelines.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of permit packages for applications adhering to standards and regulations.
- Monitor staffing needs in the project group and maintain staffing projections.
- Ensure a Scope of Work is in place for all projects.
- Create and adhere to revenue, gross profit, accounts receivable, and staffing forecasts.
- Act as liaison between customers and internal operations to meet expectations and sustain goodwill for future business.
- Execute project implementation/startup and ongoing production management.
- Monitor projects to improve quality and reduce time and cost of project throughput.
- Promote the company image through sound, ethical business practices and ensure service and quality exceed customer expectations.
- Meet regularly with key personnel to ensure effective information flow and achievement of goals.
- Implement corrective actions to meet cost targets and completion schedules.
- Develop subordinates' abilities and provide training for ongoing skill development.
- Assist personnel with interpreting customer drawings, project documentation, and technical specifications.
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and set goals with follow-ups.
- Complete invoicing within SLAs, ensure POs are in place before work startup.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in permitting design, government affairs or related work in a Utility / Permitting environment in a related industry preferred.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in utility permitting or related field preferred.
- In-depth understanding of NESC 202X code requirements preferred.
- Regulatory compliance expertise: advanced understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to underground utilities, with ability to incorporate into permit drawings.
- Advanced understanding of Telecom OSP Engineering and Construction standards for underground and aerial pole line cable plant, including Joint Use Design, Pole Replacement, Primary Service, and Reliability/Maintenance Design.
- Proven leadership of a Make Ready Team to perform structural loading calculations using O-Calc or Spida-Calc per NESC and pole owner protocol.
- Ability to create 3D models of poles in O-Calc and Spida-Calc to ensure safe attachments to power and telecom poles.
- Analytical and observational skills to plan projects, review specifications, coordinate staffing, and manage all project aspects.
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
- Persuasive and motivational with ability to elicit cooperation from diverse sources.

Additional Information
- This is a customer-facing position which will require up to 50% travel.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits
Shifts: Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm CST, with flexibility to work outside normal business hours.
Compensation: base salary range 75k-95k plus incentives.
