Overview

Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, is seeking a District Sales Manager to join our industry-leading sales team in the Food & Beverage market. You'll be responsible for revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts, using a consultative sales approach to build relationships with existing customers and convert strategic accounts. This role involves leading the district, coaching the sales team, and driving business performance.

What You Will Do

  • Drive profit growth to meet defined district profit increase goals by developing and executing a district plan to maximize revenue
  • Interact with senior management to ensure objectives are met
  • Generate sales forecasts and predict revenue monthly
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning for the district, maximizing ROI for tools and resources
  • Construct business plans with market drivers and analytics, adjusting plans as conditions shift
  • Lead District Meetings and champion corporate initiatives
  • Coach and develop a team of sales engineers and technical service representatives to maintain value
  • Ensure new hires meet training standards for product and service expertise
  • Address performance issues promptly and document statuses
  • Support the team and internal partners in identifying trends and market conditions
  • Reinforce a clear vision aligned with strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with large, strategic customers to understand business needs

Position Details

  • Residence: within commutable distance to Sacramento, California
  • Territory: ~100-mile radius of San Francisco
  • Travel: 10-20% overnight

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years leading and developing teams
  • 5+ years of successful technical or outside sales with a consultative approach
  • Ability to travel as required to support the district
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • No immigration sponsorship available

Physical Requirements

  • Operate a company vehicle as required; pre-employment and ongoing motor vehicle checks apply
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of technical or outside sales experience with multi-level facility leadership and executive relationship development
  • Extensive knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems (highly preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

The total compensation range for this position is $138,200-$207,400, including base pay and target incentive, subject to experience, education, and geography. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws. Benefits are comprehensive and market-competitive. See the employer site for details.
