  2025-10-07     VALT Health     San Francisco,CA
Description:

VALT Health is building the future of health tracking: an any‑device health intelligence layer that turns raw data into actionable insights.

We've only been in this structure for ~2 months, but we're already scaling fast.

We're looking for college students (or the rare high school student who is ridiculously skilled) who want to continue helping build our company and receive a significant ownership role.

Location: Remote-friendly. That said, the openness to move to the Bay Area during the summer for in-person collaboration is strongly preferred.

Who we want: Ambitious college students or anyone exceptionally skilled

Commitment: ~25 hours/week (multi-year commitment preferred).

Equity: 1% – 2.5% (role/experience dependent).

Compensation: Equity-only for at least the first 6 months (then equity + cash as we grow).

Mindset: Hungry, independent, ready to ship and learn at startup speed.

Responsibilities:

  • Train models to predict anomalies in user health data based on our internal bio research
  • Build our AI/ML architecture for scalability and ease of development
  • Design, train, and evaluate models for vision, language, and numerical tasks (eg. CNNs, transformer-based NLP)
  • Improve model accuracy, robustness, and latency through data curation and heavy optimization.

Must-have qualifications

  • Deep understanding of core machine learning models and architectures.
  • Proven experience building and deploying models on real-world datasets.
  • Strong grounding in optimization techniques for performance and reliability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agentic workflow
  • langchain/langraph
  • Knowledge of RAG systems.
  • Demonstrated AI security and safety practices
  • MCP-style modular tool architecture

To be considered, you must email your application to us.
