Summary
Under general direction, directs the activities and services of the Organizational Learning & Effectiveness Department within HR, ensuring that responsibilities and activities are carried out in accordance with AHS policies and procedures; plans, organizes, coordinates and administers the AHS management, leadership, new employee, IT processes and tools education programs, employee engagement and other surveys, change management. Identifies educational and organizational development needs. Performs related duties as required.
Duties & Essential Job Functions

- Assesses management, leadership, and IT skills education needs of AHS staff and management through investigation, consultation and evaluation of requests for education programs; assists managers and supervisors in establishing programs; monitors and evaluates educational programs.
- Consults with management and external educational institutions to establish curricula needed for adequate career development programs; provides information to employees regarding opportunities for self-development available in the community.
- Consults with System Transformation Center (STC) to support design, development, delivery, and evaluation of education, change, and performance improvement initiatives to support system-wide transformation projects (such as Lean Six Sigma, health delivery process improvement projects, and EHR implementations).
- Develops and maintains a library of education source materials; keeps abreast of new developments in education methods and concepts.
- Develops, administers and monitors AHS education budget.
- Develops, schedules, coordinates and participates in education programs designed to improve employee skills. May conduct education programs or select other qualified individuals or agencies to provide instructions.
- In partnership with Medical Center leadership, creates, administers, and reports on results of organizational surveys, employee engagement results, organizational leadership assessments.
- In partnership with the VP of Quality, determines the scope for annual competency education for employee and provider groups, manages the competency education program in partnership with Clinical Education team.
- Maintains records of education programs, activities and employee participation and attendance.
- Maintains strong knowledge of and relationships with leading assessment providers (DiSC, MBTI, leadership 360s, employee engagement tools) to ensure rapid and effective response to organization needs.
- Plans, develops, recommends and coordinates a comprehensive management education program for all levels of AHS management.
- Supervise a team of instructional designers, instructors, graphics and production professionals, and organization development consultants.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's Degree required.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of supervisory experience. Experience should also include organization assessment, coaching, building and administering effective performance evaluation programs, and large-scale systems change skills.
Minimum Experience: 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources, Organization Development, or Education, preferably in a medical environment. Experience must include planning, conducting, or directing an education and employee development program.
Preferred Licenses/Certification: Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP), executive coaching certification, DiSC, MBTI certification. Training in Emotional Intelligence.
