Cloudflare's solutions engineering function is responsible for collaborating with clients from early-stage ideation through to planning for production. Senior Solutions Engineers are expected to sit alongside our clients and contribute energy, ideas and opinions on solving hard problems in the industry. This may involve deep work on the art-of-the-possible and being willing to set aside preconceptions about what is impossible.
On any given day, the role provides opportunities to develop adjacent technology expertise and to master skills relating to technical and industry advocacy on behalf of clients. A key aspect is offering good practice guidance and adopting a deploy-to-production mindset, where operations are as important as the product.
As part of the broader solutions engineering community, you will work with peers who have deep subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. As a senior member, you will contribute to a body of knowledge across networking, cybersecurity and edge computing, as well as industry analyses and perspectives.
For this role, the Solutions Engineering team focuses on large clients to develop deep understanding and partnership. The role emphasizes supporting local and central government, as well as select private sector clients where appropriate. Previous experience in supporting the public sector is beneficial, but not mandatory.

On the Solutions Engineering team, you will work in a collaborative environment where diverse strengths are welcomed and everyone helps each other.
You should have a good understanding of how to manage a technical sales cycle, from qualification and discovery to solutioning and positioning Cloudflare technology, including demos or proofs of concept if needed. You should help customers form an informed opinion on the best solution, with an eye on what could come next.
