Overview

A company in our portfolio is seeking a Dev Tooling and Testing Lead to take ownership of its integration test framework and drive its adoption across engineering teams. This is a highly impactful, hands-on role where the successful candidate will complete, maintain, and champion a critical tool that ensures system reliability and developer efficiency.

This position sits at the intersection of developer tooling and testing. The incoming lead will be responsible for building and evolving a framework with Python and pytest, while actively engaging with engineers to promote and embed its use.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Framework Ownership: Take full ownership of the existing integration test framework; complete the final 20% of development to bring the framework to production readiness; maintain, refine, and extend the framework to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Advocacy & Adoption: Evangelize the framework within the organization and secure buy-in from engineering teams; communicate the benefits clearly and generate excitement around its use; partner with engineers across teams to ensure smooth adoption and provide guidance and support for effective use of the tooling.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python and pytest.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes (deep expertise not required; training can be provided).
  • Understanding of APIs, including GraphQL and REST.
  • Exposure to Bazel is a plus, though not essential.
  • Around 4–5 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without heavy oversight.

Base pay

$160,000.00/yr - $260,000.00/yr
