About The Job

As a Research Scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, our research scientists work on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science, such as machine (and deep) learning, data mining, natural language processing, hardware and software performance analysis, improving compilers for mobile platforms, as well as core search and much more. You'll contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects and collaborations with partner universities and technical institutes around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of researchers and software engineers, balancing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Recruit and hire talent to expand the team.
  • Lead the team to research, design, and develop deep neural networks for performing real-time novel view synthesis and other 3D image processing tasks such as generating 3D imagery, relighting, background segmentation, and general scene understanding.
  • Lead the team to research, design, and develop new hardware, software, systems, and processes for curating large volumes of training data for neural rendering models.
  • Integrate neural networks into real-time systems that stream over the internet.

Minimum qualifications

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of people management experience leading a research team.
  • One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Video Processing, 3D Reconstruction, Image Segmentation.
  • Experience with Neural Radiance Fields, Neural Networks, Neural Renderings.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
