Overview

Join to apply for the Translator English to French role at EFBA French Education Bay Area. This is a volunteer, part-time position. This is a fully remote role and candidates must reside in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT). Availability to translate the same day if requested before 3 p.m.; if requested after 3 p.m., translation may occur the following day.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate translation of webpages, bios, flyers, guides, documents, and other materials into French
• Proof-reading to ensure translations are free of errors

What We're Looking For

• Native or fluent in French (command of language comparable to a native French speaker)
• English fluency
• Good writing skills
• Growth mindset and interest in education
• Excellent technical skills - proficiency in Google Suite and Slack
• Professional and articulate communication skills and a pleasant, professional demeanor
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Extra points if you are a strong writer and can review and polish materials for us

EFBA (Education Française Bay Area) is a nonprofit organization promoting bilingualism by teaching French in the San Francisco Bay Area. EFBA is a unique French school for children aged 5 to 14. Since French is a minority language in the Bay Area, we have created programs to provide exposure to the language and help children become bilingual at an affordable price in the SF Bay Area.

We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer who can translate short bios of our teachers and assistants on our website from English to French, as well as our social media posts and newsletter.
