Overview

Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4075) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences and promoting product knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the visual and operational environment, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain high guest service.
  • Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Promote GameStop guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).
  • Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates; observe performance and provide feedback.
  • Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; communicate policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
  • Schedule associates to meet staffing needs; supervise and ensure best-in-class guest service.
  • Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify accurate pay for time worked.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
  • Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping.
  • Protect company assets with inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and report concerns.
  • Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative and operational duties.
  • Conduct stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure proper placement of products on sales floor.
  • Balance daily transactions, close out POS paperwork accurately, manage cash deposits per guidelines.
  • Verify shipments, record discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate findings to management.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
  • Maintain safety awareness; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines.
  • Maintain store records/files and keep manuals updated.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to GameStop policies, the Associate Handbook, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Open and close procedures compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor's degree in business/marketing/merchandising preferred.
  • Retail management experience (6+ months preferred); retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience (2+ years preferred); video game knowledge preferred.

  • Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations.
  • Operate POS system; basic math and organizational skills; complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Flexible schedule with availability including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week).
  • Reliable, trustworthy, able to work alone; able to stand/move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Understanding of safety, inventory control, and loss prevention; compliance with company policies.

Pay

$21.93 - $25.93 per hour
