Calling On Distributors, Remote W/ Travel, Growing Company. This is a remote position with travel required 40-60% of the time to meet clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts in key regions.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Manager to join our team in the tobacco industry. The role focuses on managing and growing relationships with key distributors, Core-Mark and McLane, and expanding the distribution network. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in account management, understanding of the tobacco supply chain, and a passion for driving business growth.

Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Key responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for Core-Mark and McLane, ensuring excellent service and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Business Development & Growth: Identify and capitalize on new opportunities to grow the distribution business, both within existing accounts and through potential new partners.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for expanding market share and increasing distribution volume.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Align sales strategies with distribution capabilities and client needs; analyze sales data and market trends to inform decisions and set goals.
  • Account Support & Problem Solving: Address client concerns quickly and professionally; coordinate with logistics, operations, and finance to resolve challenges.
  • Travel & Client Visits: Travel 40-60% to visit key clients and trade shows; provide on-site support as necessary.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track performance metrics, sales, and growth; provide recommendations for process improvements and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in account management, sales, or business development, preferably in tobacco or distribution industries.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value accounts with large distributors like Core-Mark or McLane.
  • Skills: Strong relationship-building and negotiation; ability to develop and execute strategic business plans; excellent verbal and written communication; problem-solving and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple accounts independently.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 40-60% of the time.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred, but not required).
