Description:

Galvanize Therapeutics is a biomedical platform company operating at the convergence of engineering, biology, and healthcare delivery, aiming to deliver life changing solutions to patients and their doctors. We design and develop Pulsed Electric Field Systems to achieve meaningful and lasting therapeutic outcomes for patients.

About the Role

The R&D Engineer works with the research and development team to design product improvements for Galvanize products. This individual will be responsible for both investigating and designing solutions for technical issues.

Responsibilities
  • Performing root cause investigation on medical capital equipment and/or disposables
  • Conducting data and statistical analyses
  • Executing design changes in accordance with company procedures
  • Updating and maintaining risk management documentation in accordance with ISO 14971, including: Design, Use-Related, Process, and/or Software risk assessment for capital equipment and/or disposables
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure product changes conform with quality and regulatory standards
  • Developing new test methods for verifying the performance of capital equipment and/or disposables
  • Assisting in continuous improvement of the design change and risk management processes to improve efficiency and compliance
Qualifications
  • Education and Training: Scientific degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering with consideration given to degree level combined with experience. Other degrees within the engineering discipline are acceptable with medical device experience.
Required Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience developing or supporting capital equipment and/or disposable medical devices, preferably in the energy-based device space
  • Strong working knowledge of basic electrical lab equipment (e.g. multimeter, function generator, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Experience performing data analysis and basic statistics. Familiarity with a scripting or programming language to automate data analysis is preferred
  • Attention to detail with a systematic approach to documentation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or Altium software

This role pays between $100,000 and $110,000 per year, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
