What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an innovative senior electrical engineer to join our Factory Design team in Fremont, CA. The electrical design team is responsible for designing state of the art power distribution systems to support factory infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. This position is full time, onsite.

What You'll Do

• Design, estimate, purchase, construct, commission and maintain electrical work
• Lead electrical design for the following electrical deliverables: Single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding drawing, underground conduit drawing, power plan, lighting layout, and area classification drawing
• Responsible to prepare electrical deliverables with respect to code compliance and ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality
• Simulate and analyze electrical engineering studies (short circuit study, load flow analysis, arc flash study)
• Participate in field construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution
• Interface with external EPC firms during bid and project execution phases as needed to ensure that design and specifications meet our Engineering Standards
• Support site operations as an electrical system owner - ensure infrastructure reliability and design/coordinate changes as needed

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years work experience in heavy commercial and industrial sector (manufacturing, datacenter, hospital, campus, etc.)
• Experience with Revit
• Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results
• Proficient to NEC/CEC requirement/exceptions
• At minimum, two historical projects acting as Engineer of Record (EOR)
• Registered as a CA Professional Engineer (PE)

Expected Compensation $100,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
