This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program details (award amount up to $200,000 and eligibility period one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
The CLC psychologist provides a range of assessments and evaluations including screening, assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders; screening for cognitive deficits; assessing capacity/competency questions; assessing understanding of advanced directives and consent; assisting staff in presenting treatment options to patients. Provides individual, group and conjoint treatments to address mental health disorders, grief and loss, and behavioral interventions to manage pain, disability and sleep problems and to enhance medical adherence. Provides consultation to CLC program staff, nursing, physicians and mental health professionals. May provide training and supervision to psychology and other trainees.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time off per year (13-26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays). Selected applicants may quality for credit toward annual leave accrual based on prior work experience or military service.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with birth/adoption/foster care.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full-time employees with total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of eligible costs up to monthly max $416.66.
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA

Requirements
Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected. Basic requirements include:
Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program (APA, PCSAS, or CPA) with specialty area aligned to the assignment. OR
Internships: Accredited APA/CPA internship or other acceptable pathways as described in the listing.
Licensure: Full, current, unrestricted license to practice psychology at doctoral level in the U.S. or DC. Non-licensed applicants may be considered for temporary graduate psychologist appointment under 38 U.S.C. 7405(c)(2)(B).
Grade Determinations: GS-11 to GS-13 based on experience, licensure, and demonstrated KSAs including: knowledge and application of psychological treatments and assessments; ability to design effective treatment strategies; ability to conduct clinical research; and other related KSAs.
