Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a pipeline of drug candidates which are designed to improve the benefits of drugs for patients.
Responsibilities
Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors and data analyses.
Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Determine methods and procedures on new assignments as needed.
Serve as an in-house consultant.
May act as spokesperson on corporate research/technology/development and advise senior management.
Lead in applying professional and scientific concepts to develop company concepts and principles to achieve objectives creatively and effectively.
Synthesize multiple data sources to draw general, non-obvious conclusions.
Define complex problems, develop approaches, and design experiments with sound judgment.
May independently represent the Company to outside organizations.
Lead the development of patent applications and interface with various departments, customers, and partners.
Integrate work practices with the broader team and participate in change implementation when required.
Plan and coordinate activities with other team members.
Write and/or approve complex reports and protocols.
Identify needs for additional resources.
Assist with designing and implementing organizational processes, budget and capital equipment requirements, and identify needs for additional resources.
May lead staff or a group, provide training as needed, and ensure adherence to company policies and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Must have previous experience in bioassay development.
Must be able to demonstrate significant success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
Must be current and active in field, while able to demonstrate expert knowledge in scientific principles and concepts both internally and externally with sustained performance and accomplishment.
Must be able to clearly communicate scientific information both written and oral.
Must be able to compose sound written work. Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.
Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment. Must be able to demonstrate problem solving capabilities.
Strong organizational skills are required.
Good computer skills are required. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint is a plus.
Experience working in an FDA regulated environment and knowledge of current GMPs as they apply to laboratory practices are highly desired.
Previous management skills are a plus. Must be willing to work as part of a team. Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
Education
PhD in a scientific discipline is required. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
Exceptional non-PhDs with demonstrated capabilities and/or significant experience may also be considered.
