GAST ARCHITECTS is an established, well-respected, eleven-person firm in San Francisco's SOMA district that focuses on both new construction and renovations of custom, high-end residential projects in the Bay Area and beyond. Position: Junior Designer – High-End Residential
Location: San Francisco (SOMA) | Hybrid Mon & Fri after training; In Office Tue/Wed/Thu
Salary: $70K–$80K DOE | Full-time | $20K Benefits Package

Responsibilities
- Work with Principals and Project Architects to develop innovative designs in a collaborative project team environment.
- Show skill and experience, or willingness to learn, in design development and construction documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience and deep interest in single-family residential design, Type V wood-frame construction, residential products, and detailing. Actual construction experience is a plus.
- Demonstrate creative critical thinking and presentation skills.
- BIM proficiency in 2-D drafting and 3-D modeling (office uses ArchiCAD; training provided for new designers with BIM experience).
- Experience in developing well-detailed Construction Documents as part of a team.
- Knowledge of codes and regulations; local experience in San Francisco is highly valued but not required.
- Strong communication skills, oral and written.
- Personable, team player with integrity and a sense of humor.
- Preference given to candidates with internship experience.

- Salary: $70K–$80K DOE; benefits package includes Gold health plan (100% premiums paid by firm); profit sharing eligible on 1/1/2027.

Work Arrangements
This position is full time; upon reaching proficiency in ArchiCAD, there is flexibility to work from home Mondays & Fridays.
