Manager of Mechanical Engineering role at BART. This position resides in the Office of Infrastructure Delivery and leads a Mechanical Engineering program across planning, design, procurement, and engineering support during construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of assets.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Five (5) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable mechanical engineering experience, including at least two (2) years of administrative and supervisory experience.
License Or Certificate
Registration as a professional mechanical engineer in the State of California.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Must have sufficient physical mobility to inspect construction in progress or run varied equipment tests.
Knowledge And Skills
Knowledge of: mechanical engineering program operations, project scheduling and management, budget administration, construction methods and equipment, contract management, supervision and performance evaluation, and related building codes and regulations.
Skills: supervising staff, managing outside consultants, planning and evaluating engineering projects, preparing budgets and contracts, communicating clearly in writing and verbally, and establishing working relationships.
