The Aparna Sundaram Lab ( at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to join our team. Our research focuses on force transmission pathways leveraged by smooth muscle cells to deform the airways, with a particular emphasis on impact in chronic inflammatory diseases of the airways such as asthma and COPD. This position offers an exciting opportunity to explore the role of cadherins in force transmission in chronic airways diseases, with the goal of advancing new treatments for asthma.
Located on UCSF's Parnassus campus, the Sundaram Lab provides access to cutting-edge facilities and a collaborative scientific environment. The postdoctoral scholar will employ state-of-the-art techniques, including advanced imaging and animal and cell culture models to uncover novel insights into disease mechanisms. Our group is involved in exciting collaborations to develop novel small molecule inhibitors to target identified pathways. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about translational pulmonary medicine and eager to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries spanning biology and medicinal chemistry.
