Position Summary
The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach an MS Business Analytics course during the fall of 2025. The course is seven to eight weeks with remote instruction on Mondays and in-person, on-campus instruction every other Saturday.



Responsibilities:

  • Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes

  • Course Description:

    MSBA 5503 Data Management for Business Analytics (10/22/2025-12/09/2025; Mondays online from 7:00 pm-9:40 pm and some Saturdays in person from 8:00 am-12:30 pm) -- This course focuses on database management systems and procedures with an emphasis on the design and development of efficient business information systems. Students will be trained to effectively manage data through database tools and techniques. Topics include relational database structures, database queries and reports, and database management issues such as concurrency control, data security, and integrity. Structured Query Language (SQL) and a structured database software package will be used in the course. This course is only available for graduate students enrolled in the Barowsky School of Business.

    Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business analytics, data science, or a closely related field
  • Experience teaching database management courses at the graduate level
  • Experience teaching or working with database management tools, including SQL
  • Working proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in working with Zoom and digital cameras
  • California resident

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in business analytics, data science, or operations management with emphasis on data management.
  • Experience teaching database management in the MS Business Analytics program.
  • Working experience in the data management industry.
