Disney's Android team is seeking a Software Engineer who is excited to build apps enjoyed by millions around the world. You will be building scalable, elegant solutions for the Disney+ Android application across a wide array of devices including phones, tablets, and TVs. Our highly collaborative group works in tandem with many cross-functional teams. We value pristine communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a bias for action. We are incredibly invested in maintaining high code quality standards with unit tests, automated tests, modern libraries, and a Kotlin codebase. Responsibilities:

• As an Android Engineer working for Disney, you are comfortable with the Android SDK and are ready to own entire features.
• You have a solid foundation of skills including debugging skills, familiarity with Android Studio, and how to maximize it.
• You are prepared to dive into moderately complex issues such as memory leaks and lifecycle issues.
• You understand the value of being organized, planning ahead, and accompanying features and fixes with tests and documentation.
• You are eager for constructive feedback from mentors and are willing to collaborate with less experienced engineers all the same.

Basic Qualification:

• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related one.
• Familiarity with the Android SDK, Activity and Fragment lifecycles, threading, custom views, and animations
• Familiarity with common object-oriented programming patterns and experience with when to leverage them
• Proficiency with Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, etc.
• Be independent, hardworking, and capable of working towards results across teams
• Be an excellent communicator who collaborates well across teams

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies
• Experience with test automation, dependency injection frameworks, and continuous integration
• In-depth knowledge of web-service and data-driven application architecture
• Experience with streaming video, codecs, and DRM

The hiring range for this position in Seattle is $120,300 - $161,300 per year, New York is $120,300 - $161,300, Los Angeles is $114,900 - $154,100, San Francisco is $125,800 - $168,700. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
