The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work remotely is $90,000-$106,000 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team at a publicly traded life sciences company. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong focus on accounts payable, general ledger entries, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time position and may be performed remotely from any location within the continental U.S. The position will report in to the Accounting department.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including processing weekly check runs and electronic payments.
- Audit invoice for accuracy and proper coding; ensure internal approvals are obtained.
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, including tax documentation and 1099 support.
- Assist with general ledger support, including journal entries and reconciliations (e.g., cash accruals, prepaids).
- Contribute to month-end close activities and assist with internal and external audits.
- Support adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance procedures.
- Assist with other general accounting and reporting tasks as needed.
- 3-5 years of AP or accounting experience in a public company; life science/biotech industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Clear and professional communication skills; comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and with external vendors.
- Experience working in a growing or startup environment is a plus.
- Experience with Sunshine Act reporting, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment is a plus
- Advanced Excel/MS Office skills are preferred.
