Data and AI Technical Sales Engineer (Brand Technical Specialist – AI MLOps – FSM) at IBM's Data & AI brand focuses on accelerating enterprises' success by improving their ability to understand and act on data. Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Brand Technical Specialist, you will work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, and earn their trust by demonstrating how IBM's industry-leading solutions solve their problems and deliver business value.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Client Strategy Design: Create client strategies for Data & AI infrastructure.
  • Solution Definition: Define IBM Data & AI solutions that enhance technology stacks.
  • Educational Support: Provide proof of concepts and simplify complex topics for client education.
  • Credibility Building: Establish credibility and trust to facilitate closure of complex cloud technology deals.
What Success Looks Like
  • Provide technical sales support for key programs and client engagements, removing technical inhibitors during pre-sales and post-sales.
  • Leverage technical experts and accelerators to orchestrate viable customer solutions; provide input to product teams for solution refinement.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and IBM business units to develop winning client solutions.
  • Work across territories and leverage industry experts within IBM markets.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for architecture development, garage engagements, and co-creation with customers.
Education and Expertise
  • Required: Master's Degree.
  • 5 years of relevant, professional experience in technology sales and the Data & AI industry.
  • Technical expertise in Data, AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI; knowledge of IBM Data & AI offerings (Cloud Pak for Data, watsonx Orchestrate) is preferred. Experience with competitive products is a plus.
  • Ability to translate business goals into technical solutions through teamwork and industry insights.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to describe IBM offerings in terms of enterprise value and per persona context.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with technical expertise; ability to proactively prospect and progress pipeline to closure.
Preferred Experience
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Financial Services industry expertise (Banking & Insurance).
  • Proven ability to work in a complex, matrix-managed environment with collaboration and effective communication.
  • Ability to anticipate and define innovative concepts in strategic environments.
  • Strong operational and project management skills.
  • Commercially minded with ownership, execution, and focus on client success.
