We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Assistant Treasurer to manage MongoDB's financial activities and provide strategic financial guidance to the senior accounting management team. The Director, Assistant Treasurer will oversee cash management, investment activities, and banking relationships, and ensure the company has the necessary financial resources to achieve its strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the company's financial statements as the company scales
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring cash balances, ensuring adequate funds to meet obligations
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing investment portfolios, including analyzing market trends and optimizing returns within the Company's investment policy
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including operating cash flow, cash burn rate, and investment return for senior accounting leadership, executive management, and the Audit Committee
  • Collaborate with Tax, Compliance and Accounting teams to minimize tax exposure and risk while preserving working capital
  • Oversee relationships with banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Evaluate debt and equity financing options
  • Advise and monitor share buyback operations
  • Develop foreign exchange exposure and hedging risk management program
  • In collaboration with the legal team, manage the company's overall risk program, including the insurance portfolio
  • Play a key role in the Global Accounting Leadership team to drive strategic priorities
  • Contribute to market strategy discussions related to investment risk and corporate programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate finance, treasury, or related field
  • Experience managing large cash balances and investment portfolios
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

Base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at offer is based on skill set, experience, qualifications, and location. Base salary range in the U.S.: $129,000—$253,000 USD.
