Description:

McKay Brothers and Quincy Data are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant.

This professional will report to the Accounting Manager and focus on the integrity of the accounting transactions, processes and reporting. The role requires a thorough working knowledge of accounting, and a firm grasp of financial statements and their interrelationships. You will work alongside and support the US Accounting Team, and interface with the Europe Accounting Team. You will work across multiple successful business lines, both domestic and international, in a dynamic, team-orientated environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter excited to work in a highly collaborative environment alongside a group of seasoned professionals. Candidates must be detail-oriented and have excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills.

This is a hybrid position based in our Oakland, CA headquarters which requires onsite attendance 3 days per week. This position is initially a temporary term of approximately two months, with potential to extend as well as move into direct employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the group and communicate to management details of the company's financial condition so as to support effective decision-making and long term success.

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manage the accounts payable cycle including coding invoices, obtaining approvals, proper review in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Perform monthly close activities including general accruals and other balance sheet reconciliations such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll-related accounts among others.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to implement process change.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Take ownership of ad-hoc requests and special projects, demonstrating adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
Experience and skills:
  • 5+ years' in an Accountant position.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP accounting policies and processes.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Google Tools and ERP Accounting Software (McKay uses Odoo version 16).
  • Critical Thinker - deductive reasoning and a problem solver.
  • Outstanding oral and written communicator.
  • Must have strong data comprehension and organizing skills.
  • International accounting/finance experience is a plus.
  • CPA preferred.


Compensation & Benefits:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-130,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
