Overview

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and is a leader in autonomous ground transportation. We are building AI-powered technology for commercial trucking and the public sector, delivering freight daily and advancing autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

We are looking for a seasoned data scientist who excels at data analysis, statistics, data-centric research, reporting, and problem solving with data. This role will own our data and maximize its utility to accelerate engineering and commercial development.

Responsibilities

  • Systematize the use of data by building metrics, dashboards, and data interrogation frameworks to enable efficient processes.
  • Answer questions with data and develop data-driven insights across the organization.
  • Facilitate development of our data platform and ensure data cleanliness; create clean data views with reliable metrics.
  • Ensure trends and conclusions used across the autonomy organization are supported by data and not statistical noise (e.g., comparing releases).
  • Maintain correct metrics that yield key insights to support accurate conclusions.
  • Develop visualizations for broad dissemination to keep the team aligned and informed.
  • Be the expert across the broad range of data sources and recognize new trends in real time.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD with 2+ years of academic or industry experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or related quantitative fields.
  • 2+ years applying machine learning, mathematical optimization, and other analytic methods to solve practical business problems.
  • Strong understanding of data aggregation, statistics metrics, implementation, and underlying mathematical principles.
  • Experience with metrics design and dashboard design.
  • Python (willingness to learn C++).
  • Demonstrated ownership and ability to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced, early-metrics-from-scratch environment.
  • Experience writing clear, concise, and detailed documentation.

Compensation

Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including location, experience, training, education, and skill level. The compensation details listed are base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Salary range: $150,000 - $250,000 USD. Your recruiter can share the specific range for the role location.
