Locally Compact, Inc. Position: Senior Software Engineer Responsible for developing systems to translate cutting-edge machine learning into complex trading behaviors. Work on problems in machine learning, finance, and technology. Specific duties and responsibilities will include: 1) leading and collaborating in diverse and engaging software work, which includes areas such as trading infrastructure, data processing, flexible pipelines for model development, and more; 2) proactively engaging in complex projects from start to finish, which includes gathering project requirements, translating them into a rational software design, reasoning effectively about supporting or dependent technologies, and communicating effectively with teammates; and 3) working directly with Senior Software Engineers to receive high-touch mentorship and coaching. This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, or a related field and 4 years related experience. Must also have 24 months of demonstrated experience with each of the following: 1) Collaborating with research partners and subject matter experts to gather data science product requirements, translate them into actionable engineering designs, and deploy them at scale; 2) Building, testing, integrating, and maintaining highly scalable software systems that set up and orchestrate computation graphs for data loading, data preprocessing, model training, and model inference; 3) Collaborating with stakeholders to improve existing data science products by implementing enhanced models, adding new features, and performing detailed analyses to understand the root cause of anomalous model outputs; and 4) Developing, testing, and maintaining scalable and reusable model surveillance, metrics generation and visualization pipelines that enable research teams to monitor distributional shift and drift in signals over time. Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master's program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Salary: $213,512 to $220,000/year.
