Responsibilities:
As the Ramp Operations Assistant Manager at ConGlobal, you will be essential in overseeing the daily functions of our railyard, ensuring smooth vehicle loading and unloading. Working closely alongside the Ramp Manager, you will drive safety, performance, and productivity while fostering team development.
This dynamic role demands strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Your responsibilities will include meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), managing budgets, enforcing company policies, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Support daily railyard operations, focusing on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Help achieve operational KPIs such as Train Performance and Vehicle Loads/Unloads per Hour.
- Enhance staff engagement and professional development initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with local railroad officials for seamless operations.
- Serve as a primary contact for customer operational concerns, ensuring high satisfaction.
- Uphold company policies and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
- Oversee terminal purchasing within budget parameters.
- Approve weekly time records for accurate payroll processing.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to maintain effective staffing levels.
- Lead training and onboarding sessions for new employees.
- Generate operational reports and performance metrics.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in Intermodal, Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- 1-3 years of leadership experience in a related field.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other MS Office applications.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Open availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in rail operations or safety management.
- Familiarity with KPIs like Lifts per Hour.
- Experience managing payroll, budgets, and purchasing.
- Background in employee training and workforce development.
