The Verily Precision Health Platform serves as a comprehensive and patient-centric engine, designed to accelerate the generation of evidence necessary for safer and more effective treatments and care decisions, ultimately contributing to longer, healthier lives. Our cloud-first methodology, coupled with advanced analytics and AI expertise, enables us to collect, organize, enrich, and activate petabytes of data, aligning with our customers' unique requirements and delivered with optimal timing.
As a Software Engineer III, you will collaborate with software engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of the software infrastructure that captures and processes sensor data from health-monitoring devices deployed for real-world studies. This data is integral to Verily's Precision Health Platform, empowering data scientists to conduct large-scale analysis of digital biomarker data and leverage it to predict the severity and progression of health conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background and a strong commitment to learning and delivering results.
Responsibilities
- Design, and develop high-quality software solutions to meet project requirements, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and technical leads to define and refine technical specifications, taking ownership of design oversight, scoping and project deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and uphold best practices, promoting a culture of excellence.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues to ensure the reliability and stability of our systems.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in SW, cloud engineering or ML engineering with a BS degree (2+ years of experience with an MS degree).
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact, production-quality software in the cloud.
- Proficiency in querying, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets, and familiarity with tools and techniques for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure tools like Terraform, GitHub.
- Proficiency in Go or Python.
- Experience working with Big Data technologies and systems, such as Data Lakes, Data WareHouses, and other distributed data processing platforms.
- Experience in building model training and deployment environments in the cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $178,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
