As the IT Director Business Relationship Management – Global Data Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in advancing ADC's Data Strategy, governance and culture by facilitating effective collaboration across cross-functional business units (Commercial, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Operations). This collaboration will establish the Data Mesh/Data Products framework for a unified and flexible approach to data management across ADC, ensuring seamless integration and accessibility of data and positioning data as a valuable asset. You will report directly to the Divisional Vice President of IT and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure global business and IT data strategy drives solutions and supports programs, projects, and applications that grow the business, engage health care professionals, and enhance patient care.
Responsibilities include leading the strategy, development, and execution of data-driven product initiatives across all regions (North America, EMEA, APAC, LATAM). You will align technical strategy with business cases while partnering with business teams to capture and showcase business value and drive road-mapping. You will work with cross-functional teams, including data, engineering, clinical stakeholders, and business leaders, to build analytical solutions that leverage data to drive impactful outcomes.
You will act as a steady and trusted advisor, partnering with senior business leaders, driving business transformation, and applying your expertise in IT data strategies to proactively identify opportunities and shape demand for future capabilities.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and product leaders to shape the vision and roadmap for data products that drive measurable improvements in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
- Partner with Delivery IT and Enterprise Architecture teams to design and implement a scalable Data Mesh framework, ensuring alignment with the organization's data strategy.
- Monitor advancements in healthcare technology, data management, and analytics, advocating for emerging trends that deliver strategic value.
- Champion data-driven innovation by integrating artificial intelligence and novel data sources to unlock new business capabilities and use cases; identify and apply emerging technologies that accelerate transformation and enhance competitive advantage.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure trust in AI-ready data assets, promoting data stewardship and accountability across business domains to support ethical data utilization.
Demand/Intake Management
- Build deep relationships with business partners and understand core problems to solve through data and analytical tools.
- Work with Abbott Diabetes Care leadership to prioritize investments in high-impact data products.
- Oversee the intake process for BRM GenAI requests, ensuring timely evaluation and prioritization of initiatives.
Architecture Review/Alignment
- Collaborate with Delivery IT Enterprise Architecture to develop and implement a Data Mesh strategy, aligned with the overall Data Strategy.
- Evolve technology capabilities for the digital and analytics platform to align initiatives with IT infrastructure and policies, driving innovation.
Business Value Measurement
- Engage with executive leadership to reinforce the strategic importance of data as a business asset and demonstrate measurable value through data, analytics, and AI initiatives.
- Articulate the business impact of data-driven solutions to stakeholders and senior executives.
- Define and monitor KPIs for data products to evaluate effectiveness, user adoption, and business impact; use insights to guide iterative improvements.
- Provide regular operational and product updates to Data & Analytics leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
- Represent IT on the Data Use and Ethics Governance Council, advocating for responsible data practices and robust governance for patient data.
People/Competency Development
- Establish and uphold best-practice standards, methodologies, and processes to elevate data strategy maturity and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data and analytics team; foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement through open communication and agile ways of working.
- Design and implement career development pathways to support professional growth of team members.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, preferably within a large or mid-sized multinational healthcare or medical devices organization.
- Experience driving IT strategy in a large multinational organization is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing complex IT projects across diverse regions.
- Strong understanding of diabetes care, medical devices, and/or healthcare regulations.
Technical Skills and Expertise
- Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing data systems that support business operations; advanced technical skills to navigate data systems and ensure seamless operation.
- Comprehensive grasp of data system strategies, including security, scalability, and alignment with latest technologies; focus on robust, cost-effective, high-performing data systems.
- Broad knowledge of technologies used by internal and external customers and partners.
Leadership and Management
- Strong governance and program/project management skills with experience overseeing large-scale data initiatives across departments.
- Ability to oversee integration and optimization of data systems across the organization, coordinating with multiple departments to align with business goals.
- Experience leading teams, both direct and project-based, with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Position Accountability / Scope
- Financial implications of programs up to $20M; annual cumulative project budgets $5M to $25M.
The base pay for this position is $193,300.00 – $386,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
