Global Head of Application Services is a leadership role responsible for managing the overall Application Services business globally for Rackspace Public Cloud. Driving business around application migration, modernization, cloud-native development and support. This is a critical role with responsibility for building Services Business for Enterprise customers—from ground up. The primary function is to build and run a profitable business with sales, solutioning and delivery responsibility, partnering with the field sales team to grow the Applications Services business globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Applications Services business unit globally and grow the business around application migration, modernization, development and support.
• P&L leader for Applications Services with responsibility for revenue, margin, and utilization targets.
• Strategy — deliver against a clear business plan that includes prioritized offerings, target markets/customers/segments, monetization model, mix of in-house and partner-delivered capabilities, and clear performance measures/objectives.
• Strategy — create capability and offering roadmap to accelerate the business.
• Sales — lead growth of the Application Services globally, working with Field Sales and Go-To-Market teams.
• Sales — lead solution- and advisory-led sales with existing and new customers.
• Pre-Sales — actively participate in pre-sales activities, deal reviews for Application Services engagements.
• Solutioning — develop differentiated offerings to help customers achieve their business objectives.
• Delivery — deliver large, complex cloud application development, migration, modernization engagements globally.
• Delivery — ensure engagements are delivered successfully with high customer satisfaction.
• Partner — partner with hyperscalers to create strategic initiatives that drive business growth.
• Partner — establish Rackspace as a top Cloud Application Services partner.
• Offering — collaborate with Offering and Marketing to create market-defining offers and lead sales and deployment of those offers.
• Team Management — manage a large team of architects, consultants, and delivery managers across the region.
• Talent Management — build a world-class organization through attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining key talent including Enterprise Architects and Consultants with strong application architecture and transformation backgrounds.
• Operational Excellence — maintain healthy utilization for the team.
• Operational Excellence — forecast revenue, margin, and utilization accurately; represent the business to senior leaders and customers.
• Cross-organizational agility, communication, and leadership.
• Provide technical thought leadership with pattern recognition around key opportunities, serving as a technical influencer across Rackspace.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of clients' business and industry, anticipating and addressing opportunities and issues as they arise.

Skills

• Seasoned P&L leader with strong experience in building Application Services business on cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft) or leading consulting/SI organizations of $50M+.
• Strong understanding of technology and standard practices around consulting and delivery.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Native solutions, containers, microservices, APIs.
• Deep expertise in application architectures, SDLC, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience leading customer discussions and winning deals based on solution strength.
• Strong delivery experience delivering large applications services engagements with a global delivery model.
• Analytical thinker with ability to plan and build long-range plans.
• Thorough knowledge of all areas of business operation including strategic and operational planning.
• Ability to lead teams of support professionals and delivery managers.
• Proven leadership and motivational skills with a passion for excellence and a constant desire to innovate and improve.
• Excellent time management, written and verbal communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Must be a strong presenter to technical audiences.

Experience

• 10+ years' experience building and leading Applications Services business.
• 15+ years' experience as Enterprise Architect.
• 10+ years' experience managing large teams.
• 10+ years' experience managing and achieving revenue targets.
• Strong technology background on AWS, Azure platforms.
• Strong technology expertise on cloud programming languages.
• Togaf, Zachman Framework.

Certifications & Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Demands

• General office environment: no special physical demands required.
• May require long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor.
• Schedule flexibility to include working weekends and/or evenings and holidays as required by the business for 24/7 operations.

Travel

• As per business needs and requirements.

The following information is required by pay transparency legislation in the states of CA, CO, HI, NY, and WA. This information applies only to individuals working in these states.

The anticipated starting pay ranges are as follows: Colorado: $191,400 - $255,900; Hawaii and New York (excluding NYC): $210,000 - $280,000; California, New York City and Washington: $230,000 - $307,000.
