Department DescriptionThe UCSF Dyslexia Center is developing a new digital tool, Multitudes, free for all California public schools. This platform aids in the early identification of Kindergarten and First Grade students who may face challenges learning to read. Early identification can lead to early intervention. Multitudes is led by the Dyslexia Center located in the ALBA Language Neurobiology lab. The ALBA Language Neurobiology laboratory studies how language is organized in the brain across the lifespan and how language skills and brain regions are affected by neurological conditions. The group researchers two syndromes: Primary Progressive Aphasia and Dyslexia, and collaborates with schools to develop early interventions and educational strategies to help children with dyslexia thrive.
