The Role

We're hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate core services of Optura's AI platform. You'll own systems end-to-end—from model/agent orchestration and routing to reliability/observability—partnering with product and app teams to ship secure, scalable, HIPAA-aware services.

What you'll do

• Build the platform : services in Python/TypeScript for orchestration, routing/gateways, RAG, and eval pipelines
• Work smarter with AI : use Copilot/ChatGPT with tests, linters, benchmarks
• Ship to prod : own design → deploy; add SLOs, dashboards, runbooks
• Operate reliably : improve latency, cost, availability; incident response and postmortems
• AI in production : guardrails, prompt/version management, offline/online evals; multi-provider integration
• Data & storage : vector search (pgvector/Pinecone/OpenSearch), caching, Postgres/RDS
• Security & compliance : HIPAA best practices (RBAC, audit logs, least privilege, secrets); no training on PHI unless explicitly allowed

Our stack (you'll touch many of these)

Python, TypeScript/Node, LangGraph/LangChain, AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, RDS, S3), Terraform, Redis, Postgres, vector DBs (pgvector/Pinecone/OpenSearch), OpenTelemetry, Cloudwatch, CI/CD (GitHub Actions).

Qualifications

Requirements

• 7+ years software engineering (or equivalent); strong Python and TypeScript/Node
• 2+ years applied AI in production (agentic workflows/RAG/orchestration)
• AWS and containers/Kubernetes (EKS/ECS); Terraform
• Observability (metrics, tracing, logging) and on-call ownership; excellent communication

Preferred

• Healthcare/regulated industry experience (HIPAA, PHI handling).
• LLMOps: prompt mgmt, eval frameworks , safety/guardrails, cost & latency tuning.

90-day outcomes (success looks like)

• Ship a production model routing/gateway with metrics, rate-limiting, and fallbacks.
• Develop data caching and storage patterns considering cost vs performance trade-offs.
• Stand up RAG baseline with evals and guardrails; reduce latency and cost by measured targets.
• Establish SLOs, dashboards, and on-call runbooks for core services.
• Document a repeatable pattern for AI-assisted development and verification.

Location/Type: US Based - Remote/Hybrid.

Compensation: $104,000 - $222,000 + equity (varies by location/level)
