Founding Chip/Software Engineer role at Silimate (YC S23). We're growing the team and are looking for a Founding Engineer with significant experience with the VLSI front-end design flow and strong coding skills to build the copilot for chip designers with us.

Base pay range$140,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr
You'll join a mission-driven startup transforming how chips are built, enabling 100x faster design cycles. We're looking for a resourceful self-starter who cares deeply about the quality of work and wants to own/drive core product and ship code daily.
You'll be working with our customers/users, translating feedback into product direction.

Responsibilities- Write code (Python/C++) that ships to Silimate's 10+ chip/IP customers
- Make software architectural decisions for key product features
- Translate user feedback into product updates/features
- Plan core product roadmap and strategy with the founders
- Passionate and excited about chips and AI for EDA
- Experienced with designing ASICs using SystemVerilog and synthesis/verification tools (open-source and/or commercial)
- Experienced with common front-end EDA tools
- Good at writing/shipping high-quality code (Python/C++) quickly
- Basic knowledge of statistics & AI/ML methods
- Resilient, data-driven, and works from first principles
- 1+ tapeouts (ideally on advanced technology nodes)
- Contributor to open-source EDA/chip efforts
- Significant experience with PPA optimization and/or functional correctness convergence
