Location: San Francisco, CA (This is an in-person role that can temporarily start as remote to aid in relocation. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE.)

Compensation: $100K-$200K + Equity

About:
Our client is an early-stage startup led by experienced founders on a mission to build transformative AI-powered tools. Backed by visionary investors, our client is looking for aFounding AI Engineer with a specialization in agents to help improve their AI orchestration layer. This will involve designing, implementing, and testing agentic workflows that enable task executionwith increasing depth and reliability.

An ideal candidate is a determined builder who has shipped AI agents to production and is excitedby deep, unsolved technical challenges.

What you'll do:

• Design and improve our AI agent orchestration layer to execute increasingly complex tasks
• Expand testing suite + benchmarks to evaluate tool use and response accuracy
• Research and improve product'slong-term memory architecture
• Collaborate with product engineers to build a pristine user experience for producttask execution flow

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Extensive experience building AI agents
• SF-based or able to relocate to SF

Bonus:

• Proficient in full stack development (Python FastAPI and NextJS, or something similar)
• Experience developing and scaling production applications

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary : $100K- $200K, depending on experience
• Equity : Up to 2% (flexible to 3% for exceptional candidates)
