Description:

Links Technology is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our client's team in San Francisco, CA. Our client is a leading technology firm specializing in IoT products and embedded systems. This is a Contract role, with an expected duration of approximately 12 months, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT products, contribute to a seamless customer experience, and advance your skills in software quality assurance and test automation.

Responsibilities of the Test Automation Engineer:
  • Design and execute effective manual test plans for embedded systems and IoT products.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests using scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.
  • Identify, log, reproduce, and verify defects, collaborating closely with development for root cause analysis and effective defect management.
  • Analyze and verify requirements and technical solutions for software quality.
  • Document test cases and procedures clearly for handoff and traceability.
  • Provide input and feedback on quality-related improvements during the course of work, acting as a key member of the QA team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support release validation efforts, ensuring overall software quality assurance.
Qualifications of the Test Automation Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or technology field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and automation.
  • Proven ability to identify edge cases, integration issues, and design flaws through hands-on exploratory testing.
  • Proficiency in scripting using at least one language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby) for test automation.
  • Practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and the defect lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, including basic networking and CLI tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
