Compensation: $304,000–$342,000 base + equity + benefits

Reports To: VP & Deputy General Counsel, Litigation and Regulatory Compliance

You'll represent Discord across a broad litigation spectrum, from proactive risk mitigation to full-on litigation strategy. This is a high-impact legal leadership role in a dynamic and evolving space — tech, gaming, privacy, and platform safety.

• Represent Discord in Legal Disputes
• Handle pre-litigation, litigation, and regulatory investigation matters involving the company.
• Oversee & Collaborate with Outside Counsel
• Manage outside legal teams for complex and business-critical litigation.
• Build Scalable Legal Infrastructure
• Develop litigation processes, including e-discovery systems and risk management tools.
• Monitor legal trends and help the company preempt issues before they arise.
• Advise Internal Stakeholders
• Work closely with teams across product, policy, trust & safety, and engineering to ensure legal awareness and mitigation strategies are in place.

Required Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Bar admission in a relevant U.S. jurisdiction
• 10+ years of combined experience (top law firm + in-house legal preferred, ideally tech)
• Deep experience in:
• Platform safety, minor safety, and content regulation
• Experience supervising litigation from intake to resolution
• Strong writer and communicator
• Strategic, business-minded legal thinker with a hands-on approach
• Comfortable managing projects in high-pressure, ambiguous environments
• High EQ, humility, and collaborative mindset
• In-house legal experience at a consumer tech platform
• Worked on regulatory investigations (FTC, AGs, international regulators)
• Experience with litigation in Brazil, Israel, UK, or the EU
• Strong eDiscovery expertise, especially for messaging platforms (voice, video, text)
• Experience in:
• Intellectual property litigation (trademark, copyright, patents)
• Commercial contract disputes and arbitration

• Base Salary: $304,000 – $342,000 (contractual)
