Overview

As the Tax Manager, you'll be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to lead the company's corporate tax function, ensuring compliance with all domestic and international tax regulations while developing and implementing effective tax planning strategies. You will partner with senior leadership to optimize the company's tax position, reduce risk, and support business growth through sound tax advisory and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the corporate tax function, including compliance, planning, and reporting, with effective backup processes in place for all critical activities
  • Review annual domestic income tax returns prepared by external service providers
  • Manage tax-related filings, including federal, state, and local returns, declarations, and extensions
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes related to tax, including provision calculations and reserve requirements
  • Develop and implement global tax planning strategies to reduce tax expense, mitigate audit risk, and maintain a competitive effective tax rate
  • Monitor tax code changes and ensure timely compliance with new requirements
  • Partner with senior management on key initiatives such as incentives, grants, and expansion into new jurisdictions
  • Oversee tax-related costs and ensure efficient resource allocation within the tax function
  • Prepare effective tax rate modeling to support long-range planning and cash flow forecasting
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors on complex tax projects and audits
  • Maintain deep understanding of the company's global operations and provide proactive tax guidance to leadership
  • Manage transfer pricing planning and compliance, ensuring adherence to global standards
  • Oversee the reconciliation of income tax balance sheet accounts and review GAAP-to-tax differences under ASC 740
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Tax required; CPA designation or Master's degree in Accounting/Tax strongly preferred
  • Bilingual fluence (Chinese Mandarin and English) is highly desired
  • 6+ years' experience in corporate tax, ideally within a Big Four public accounting firm and a multinational public company
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements
  • Proven experience with global tax planning and cross-border tax issues
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax leaders
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements and automation in tax functions
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of managing projects and meeting critical deadlines
