Overview

Machine Learning Engineer role at AI Fund in San Francisco, CA. This is a full-time, hybrid position.

LandingAI context (from original description): LandingAI has always been a Visual AI company solving vision problems, focusing on document understanding and building foundational infrastructure for developers to extract information from images and documents. Founders and guiding pillars include agentic AI, data-centric practices, and a vision-first approach, with leadership from Andrew Ng.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with senior ML engineers to design ML solutions, including agentic workflows or creating custom models.
• Iterate ML solutions to production-level quality.
• Source and curate high-quality data for training models.
• Work closely with the labeling team to manage data-centric workflows.

What We're Looking For

• Strong ML foundations and experience: 3+ years in ML solution design through solving real-world, complex problems.
• Strong grasp of ML fundamentals, modeling, and algorithm design (not just off-the-shelf solutions).
• Strong computer vision background (Vision Transformers, CNNs, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with utilizing LLMs programmatically in agentic workflows.
• Data-centric obsession: experience with the data-centric approach, including model evaluation and error analysis.
• Very strong attention to detail and willingness to do the dirty work (data-centric tasks, labeling, fixing, etc.).
• Strong data analysis skills and good communication.
• Strong customer focus to understand requirements and solve core problems.
• Good coding skills for clear idea communication and experience with PyTorch.
